Baudo-Trois Danses Paiennes OS

Trois Danses Païennes is a three-movement work for multi-percussion and piano by French conductor and composer Serge Baudo. The piece was written for the Paris Conservatoire contest and dedicated to Félix Passerone, a professor at the Conservatoire. It requires advanced technique and a strong command of all the instruments involved across its three contrasting movements, making it a demanding and varied vehicle for a skilled percussionist.

• I. Danse des esprits (Allegro): Timpani, vibraphone/marimba/xylophone, snare drum, bass drum, tam-tam, cowbell, triangle, tambourine, castanets
• II. Danse des ombres et du feu (Andante): Vibraphone/marimba
• III. Bacchanale (Allegro Vivace): Timpani and piccolo timpani
• Piano accompaniment throughout
