The Black Swamp SPEC2 5/16" Medium Spectrum Triangle Beater is a general purpose Spectrum Beater for a majority of musical situations.

Spectrum triangle beaters are the finest end-weighted beaters available. The solid bronze ends are CNC machined, then highly polished and permanently attached to a stainless steel handle. The rubber grip reduces vibration and increases both control and comfort during performance. Because the actual beater surface is over 1" long, you can also perform corner rolls at an angle, which produces a fuller sounding roll.

My only problem with this beater is that the title is a bit misleading for people new to triangle-related terminology - I assumed "medium" and "general purpose" meant it was a good all-around beater. The beater is rather heavy and thick, and if playing normally, it's hard to play below what I would consider a forte - it cuts through. Amazing tone, but very loud. However, I've found that hitting the triangle with the part of the beater right where the head starts to taper allows for a much more controlled sound, and keeps the tone quality good. 4 stars - it sounds great once you get used to it, which is all that really matters.
