THE FELT PORTION OF THE MALLET WAS SHRUNK BY THE MANUFACTURER. NOT SURE WHAT THE REASON WAS, AS A 3 FUNCTION BRUSH, IT JUST DOES NOT SO WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO.
This brush by John "JR" Robinson is by far, hands down (lol... of course hands down, I'm a drummer! ) .... is the very best combo set of brushes I have ever used, and I've been drumming for over 45 years! The versatility of having an instant tip to use like a normal drumstick and an instant mallot is the very best invention I've ever seen! When playing live quiet cafe style gigging they are the only set I use for the entire 2 hour set. My best friend buddy on lead guitar and vocals commented on how great they sounded! .... Best investment ever! Btw they have a harder plastic band near the mallot end which is great for rim click/cross stick playing! Note: when retracted don't feel you need to push the bent metal all the way totally in... you do not. It'll be hard to pull the rod back out easily. Just let the tip be a 1/4" away.
