This series is without question the best value, simplest mallets you can buy. Not intended for really aggressive playing or marching applications, these are a simple, easy to use series that covers the full range of the instrument and a huge range of literature. The medium orange mallets have a clear tone over almost the full range of a 5-octave. They last a long time if you're playing non-marching type stuff. They can do just about anything in the mid-range of tone and pair nicely with the others in the series when you need to do more voicing.

Good Value for practice mallets

Good if you are looking for affordable mallets. In my opinion they feel better balanced for 4 mallet playing than for 2 mallet playing, but that might just be me. These medium mallets work best in the low and middle range, but are ok in the upper range.

Great value for the price

The yarn doesn't fray very fast and I still haven't gotten a bad duddy sound like some mallets after long use. I've used them regularly for about 7 months and the quality of sound hasn't gotten worse. They don't have as much rebound as nicer mallets but for the price it's worth it. Also the color of the yarn is a little more pinkish than red.

Everything they say is true and if these become discontinued it's all our fault. Buy them. Not sure on durability yet, but after this indoor season I may stick with these for all non-marching instruction. Speaks in all ranges at multiple dynamics. Not too much oomph or restraint required. Ears and bars like it.
